Born out of Chesterfield, Virginia Travis W. King is a well-respected Musician, Educator, and Producer to all who have made his acquaintance. Travis applies his signature style and feel to every genre and situation thrown his way. His music does not lack emotion and sense of feel to say the least.

Travis did not come from a musical family. His brother took guitar lessons for a few months, his father picked at a guitar every now and then. His first musical influence was tapping on the dashboard of his father’s car listening to beach music. He seemed to take percussion into interest; in 2001 he received his first set of drums as a present from his parents for Christmas. Everyone who knew him when He was young knew he had rhythm and would use this God given talent one day.

During Middle School, Travis enrolled in Music classes learning how to read music playing mostly bells, marimba, and xylophone. In High school, He continued playing Music in just about every class the school had to offer including spending his summers at band camp for the marching warriors. On his downtime for the next few years, He would practice and play drums for his church as well as doing the local music scene playing in bars, small clubs, and a few of the larger venues. After realizing he might be able to make a part of his living around music, Travis started to take his craft more seriously, learning everything he could from anyone who was interested in teaching him.

In December 2008, Travis entered into a local drum competition for Y101.1 (Cox Radio Richmond). The competition was assembled to find the best musicians in Richmond, Virginia and put them together to assemble a local “Super Group” of highly talented players and Performers. By far, the drum position had the most competitors, over 100. In the end, not only did Travis W. King out-shine the rest with his ability to play, but also with his ferocious performance that had the crowd and the judges on the edge of their seat. Travis continued to play with the band until February 2010.

Travis then became member to Safety Word Orange, an all original pop-rock band out of Richmond (formally Los Angeles, California). They released 4 albums in just under 3 years including acoustic tracks. After releasing senior ep titled ‘ACCEPTANCE’, Safety Word Orange disbanded during the supporting tour. Today, Travis is an Independent Music Professional based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Travis and His Production company ‘Travis King On Drums / Production Co.’ are steadily making a name in the industry among the most in-demand names in country, gospel, and rock music.
